Olivae

Olivae is a recipe app that helps you see meal ideas that cater to your specific preferences. Enter in the foods you are your family like or don’t like and receive custom recommendations.

Design Process.

This was a much more UX focused project with more user testing and development of ideas. I started this process with intense research into other recipe apps on the market. Then applied this research to some user personas that reflect the needs of the current market.

The above images showcase the development of my apps home page from a wireframe stage to a finished high fidelity prototype. I wanted to create something that functioned in a similar way to Pinterest, you get a personalised feed and can then save recipes into different categories.

The most important part of my application, and its unique selling point was the ability to learn all of your dietary interests and build a completely personal experience for you. Here we can see an example of this. I designed a series of questions regarding dietary needs and general likes and dislikes. This then influenced the users homepage and showed them recipes containing their favourite ingredients. You also have the option to create a family account that then allows you to select exactly what members of the family you need to cater for.

This was also my first project where I handled the branding myself. As this application was entirely my creation the branding was something that I really wanted to get right.

Olivae is a health orientated luxury application based around food, I believe that my branding choices reflect this.
